I am absolutely gobsmacked that Keedie Green has been sent home from Bootcamp on the first day!! I was at the Birmingham NEC show and she was ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!! She got a resounding YES from Louis Walsh, Natalie Imbruglia, Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowel! Yes, that’s correct, 4 YESES!! I am 100% certain that many millions of X-Factor viewers would have loved to witness Keedie’s extraordinary talent on the live shows!!

When one hears Keedie sing "My Reason" one is speechless, or sobbing. No one can compare. No one. Not as far as I am concerned. If she takes care of herself and stays in training, she will surpass Maria Callas as she matures. God bless you Keedie. And God bless your delightful family.

You can find the End Credit Music done and sung by Keedie...she was personally picked by Andy Garci to do the Video called MY REASON....on MY SPACE. You can find Keedie on MY SPACE. Go halfway down the page on right and the Music Video from Modigliani is there. Keedie is a cross over Soprano who you will fall in love with.

Susan you track Modigliani pretty much and I work too much to but for the future can you let people know Keedie can be found on My Space which I joined, her as a Friend and Nicola who handles her music, past and present, including Modigliani. She is the one I go to for all info. on Modigliani.

Hi, Helen,
Thanks ever so for the info. I think Keedie is an amazing singer who has not received the recognition she deserves. I'll go to My Space and thank you again.

I'm the "Nicola" in question. Keedie's album is really not that difficult to get hold of. If you go to the British version of this site, Amazon.co.uk, there are plenty of CHEAP copies on there. You will pay extra import charges, of course, but her CD goes for about $8 on amazon.co.uk. The song 'My Reason' is on that album. The soundtrack to this film does not feature Keedie's song on it.

I have a website for Keedie as well: www.keedieonline.com, but it's not up to date, my friend, Dave Haddock, runs a very up to date website: www.keedie.info

Keedie's Myspace, which I run, is at www.myspace.com/keediebabb

Hi, Nicola,
How nice to "meet" you! Actually, I was just able to get Keedie's CD (new) off eBay; it came from China and was quite expensive, but worth every single dollar!
She's got the most amazing voice, and MY REASON is my fave song in Modigilani. I gave up trying to get the soundtrack here in the US and then I discovered Keedie's song, MY REASON, wasn't even on it, the main reason I wanted it. Thank you for your very kind information on the CD, the soundtrack and the websites for Keedie.
I wish her the great success she so richly deserves, and you and Mr. Haddock the same. Kindest Regards, Susan Haynes, Paris, Texas

I can't help but to comment again so soon. I've been watching your video "My Reason"......I am deeply moved...this song.....and how you performed it is incredible. The structure of changing the keys from Gm to Em and back to Gm using Cm as the dorian poured out the emotion to an even higher level and the ending was...(no words can say). Hands down.....one of the best songs I have ever been blessed enough to hear.

You are a blessing to the world. Wow!!! I'll be back often and will encourage many to come to your site.

Ok, enough of that :) Have a great future.

Hi Keedie

For 6 months all I've listened to exclusively in the bath is your CD I Believe My Heart

Please add me to your friends. I have finally gotten around to a my space and since music is like a breath of life to me only with an added ability to add flight of my spirit. As my subject line says, you have had exclusive singing rights to the music playing in my relaxing baths for months without changing it. I first heard your voice when I saw the movie that "My Reason" theme songed. I knew when I had to keep rewinding the end of the movie to play it over about 10 times that I needed to buy your CD and so of course I did. This was quite awhile back. Your voice is beautiful. I wish you much joy, laughter with friends, success, and a heart filled with snapshots of love that is real to hold your gaze.

Have a Great Summer

Keedie has got this most
astonishing, rich, beautiful voice! The high note she sings on "Ebben... Ne andro lontana" is thrilling, "My Reason" is beautiful and majestically sung. I love "I believe my Heart", a duet with Duncan from Blue taken from Andrew Lloyd Webber's fantastic new musical "The Woman in White". I love "The Star in You", it is a beautiful song and already sounds like a classic! I love this album, it is one of my favourites and I can't wait for her next one!

"
Keedie's fabulous voice is truly amazing - Her soprano notes are definately in league with those who sing at the Metropolitan Opera. I used to think Charlotte Church was an extraordinary singer, but when I last saw her on TV, it seemed she just lost it in her metamorphasis to heavy rock.  One could listen to Keedie for hours and still not get enough of her beautiful music. I brought her album to work with me on Friday and treated some of my colleagues to a really great bit of entertainment. They all thought Keedie's voice is just awesome and our computer wizard Alex was totally mesmorized by her!!. We are all hoping she will eventually perform in New York City and we just know it would be a sell out with SRO. I believe her popularity would really rise if she were able to ever perform in New York".

Note: Athena Tooze, The lady who wrote this, just managed to survive the 9/11 disaster. She was working in the building next to the Twin Towers when they came crashing down. She now says "I have listened to the album at least half a dozen times since receiving it and each time Keedie's singing brings peace and tranquility to my soul".

Hey guys this is Keedie ,

Things have been going fab lately. I've been performing for some charities and some cricket events which have gone lovely. This Sunday I'm performing in Cardiff at the Millenium Stadium for the Carling cup final Man U and Wigan Live on sky , see you there! Keedie xxxx

Dave Haddock

Been a Man-United fan for 59 years but the highlight of the Carling Cup Final for me was knowing Keedie was singing at the Millenium Stadium before the match, what a scoop for this special occasion but what a disappointment for us Keedie fans who wern't able to get to the ground!!

I set the video to record Keedie's performance and after catching a 3 second glimpse of her beautiful smiling face the camera went off her and panned all around the stadium showing all the football supporters ugly mugs!!!!

Sky TV are totally out of order denying us the chance to see the only real star in the stadium perform.

It was still a day to remember just being able listen to Keedie's awesome voice.

Dave.

"I Believe My Heart" is a great song Lauren which was sung to perfection by Keedie and Duncan. It has been chosen to be played at my daughters wedding at the Berry Head Hotel, Brixham, Devon on the 6th June. If Keedie has an hour to spare she would be most welcome to drop in for a slice of wedding cake and a glass of Devon scrumpy!!

Having not heard much about Keedie, I was delighted to recieve her album recently. Keedie has a wonderful voice for someone so young, this album shows some wonderful singing, particularly in her versions of Ave Maria, Time to say Goodbye and Vissi D'arte. I feel she sings straight from the heart and uses all colours to her voice well, but I feel is better suited when singing operatically where her voice is more comfortable and secure and I find to be more controlled than Katherine Jenkins in her recent album living a dream, and Hayley Westenra - Keedie's O mio Babbino is more suited to her than Hayley. Perhaps a duet would be nice, I think she would sound fabulous singing with another exciting talent Jon Christos. As a whole, this album has a lovely variety of styles, colours and emotions and I would strongly recommend this album from this great NEW talent to anyone.

After hearing the name "Keedie" mentioned a few times here and there I decided to check her out.

Clips are only available of two of her songs, "Time to say goodbye" and "I believe my heart." I think it would be a good idea for them to add clips to her other songs like "Pie Jesu" and "O Mio Babbino Caro" as well.

She seems to occasionally use to much vibrato and of course, she looks exactly like a pop star! lol. But she has a very lovely voice and I can definately see why EMI signed her!

Her pop voice was very nice to, although I guess I'm just naturally prejudice, I prefer the classical one!

Re: KEEDIE
Post by Roger

Oops, I thought I had spoken about Keedie here but it seems I have not so let's put that right straight away.

I bought her CD within a few days of its release. I had never heard of her, I just saw it on the rack in a local store, thought it looked interesting and bought it on impulse. I was emailing a friend when I first heard it and described what I heard. After just a few notes of the introduction to Ave Maria, I clearly remember saying something like, "Wow, this is gorgeous". Half way through that first track, I had already run out of superlatives. A few minutes later, I stopped typing and was compelled to give it my full attention.

I was really impressed with the quality of Keedie's voice and her ability to sing virtually anything. But I don't listen to music to be impressed, I listen to it for pleasure. I can honestly say that 'I Believe My Heart' gave me more pleasure the first time I heard it than any album has done for many years with the exception of anything by Hayley.

For anyone who likes good quality vocals but not necessarily operatic (although she can sing that too), I urge you to listen to Keedie. Like me, you will probably love her.

Roger

Re: KEEDIE
Post by nicola

I'm the webmaster with Andy of Keedie-online.

Obviously I love her to bits :) I like both her pop voice and her classical, both are very nice. Her pop voice I find very soothing actually. She can just do whatever style of music she wants and that is what will keep her going. I agree that her vibrato can be excessive at times but I have just got used to it from listening to her too much lol.

She did the Madonna cover very well. I don't think Madonna is the strongest of singers and it's nice to hear that lovely song done really well. Also, I don't think anyone should ever be covering Enya but she pulls it off. I still prefer Enyas version though.

She seems to add something different to each of the classic songs. I like how she has translated the Flower Duet, Un Bel Di and Ave Maria into English (the only version of Ave Maria I enjoy actually).

What I like most about Keedie though is using her classically trained voice with a pop backdrop; the songs like 'Star In You', 'All Because Of You' and 'My Reason' are my absolute favourites of the album. I do like a mixture of pop and classical elements and I think she makes a fine result of it.

Just my two cents on Keedie :)

Nic

Re: KEEDIE
Post by Richard

Hello folks! ;)

I've finally managed to watch Keedie's video clips by downloading the Windows Media Player from the BBC News web site:-

Personally I think her voice and looks are more suitable for pop music than classical, but she's certainly a good singer. I wish Keedie good luck with her career, and I hope she can get that elusive break. :D

Bye for now,

Richard 8-)

Re: KEEDIE

EMI appears to be doing a better job with her than they did with Becky....so far. I wonder if her CD will be released in the USA....

Natasha

Re: KEEDIE
Post by Stephch

Even though I live in the US I have her CD as I ordered it from the UK .I like her voice but it is true she does have an uncontrollable vibrato.

Re: KEEDIE
Post by Oksana

Wow! Keedie's amazing. The vibrato is a little distracting at first, but later you realise how much it adds to the songs. She has a very unique style.

If her CD does well, she's bound to be the next Sarah Brightman.

Speaking of Sarah, how come nobody's started a board about her yet? *wanders off to do so*

Re: KEEDIE
Post by nicola

I saw Keedie in concert for the first time last night. She honestly seems like a modest, genuine kind girl. I was at the railings of the stage and she was just so happy. She loved being up there. She was waving and smiling frantically all the time. She even beamed whilst singing. She absolutely adored 'Vissi D'arte', she was so infectious and natural. She just came out in jeans (with holes in them) and a chavvy top. She looked very comfortable and she loved the crowd. I don't think a lot of the people were there to see her (she is overshadowed by Katherine Jenkins and G4) but she got thunderous applause. I thought she sang Katherine off the stage. I knew she was a fantastic singer, but it was only last night that I really appreciated her talent. Absolutely amazing. A fine performer.

Hi Nicola,

That takes me back to the night I saw Keedie in the Classic Response concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Her excitement at just being there was very apparent and almost infectious. It was rather lovely to witness it and made her performance all the more enjoyable. A remarkable singer indeed.

Have you heard any news yet of a second album?

Roger

Hello Roger,

Second album has not been mentioned to us yet, but Maria (her Mum) has said that she has recorded two songs: Nessun Dorma and another one originally written, I have forgotten by who and it wasn't given a title. I think she is still too busy touring for an album. She is yet to get her name really out there before she can release another one I think?

Loadsa love

Hi Nic,

Thanks for the info. I think you're right in that Keedie's name hasn't really taken off yet even though she has taken part in some fairly high profile events. Let's hope she does so soon :)

Keedie has signed our guest book again and said that she is making a new album and that we are to expect it early next year :) :) Great news!

Thanks for that, Nicola. That's great news and I will definitely be buying it.

Hi ya,

Some more Keedie news. A lot has happened today :)

Keedie is releasing a charity single for Christmas with the England cricket team on the 12th December singing 'Jeruselem' (I may have spelt that wrong). That is quite exciting, it will get her name out there (since our cricket team won the Ashes this year).

The best thing? They are putting our website on the record sleeve :)

Her manager has sent us a press package with some lovely photos of Keedie :) I'm really excited for her.

Hey, Congratulations Nic! Fame at last, eh?

I will look out for that single and hope it does well.

Keedie and the cricket teams single is now up for pre-order on amazon.co.uk

I can't wait to hear it! It will be the only single I have bought this year, I don't normally buy them (very overpriced). But a) this single is Keedies and b) it's for charity. Can't go wrong here

Also this single is a hot contender for the Christmas number one. I've seen the odds from 9/1 - 33/1. Charity singles do really well at Christmas. Shame about the competition being so tight. I think The X Factor winner will get it for sure

I heard Keedie for the very first time in my life, a few days ago. Wow!!! I was just totally amazed by the gorgeous quality of her voice.

The way in which I heard Keedie was in itself rather unexpected: my husband and I went to a local video store, looking for a DVD to rent. We often prefer to watch new releases at home, on TV, rather than to go to a movie theatre.

Well... we rented the film "Modigliani" starring Andy Garcia. And, guess what? KEEDIE's voice is singing in the background, on the movie soundtrack!

As the film opens, Keedie is heard singing Caccini's version of Ave Maria. At first, I almost thought that it might be Hayley, as the melody was so familiar. Then, I realised that it was not Hayley, but someone else. Keedie also sings a special song written just for the film, near the end of the movie.

I think that Keedie is awesome!

That song you are referring to is called 'My Reason'. It's the most emotional and powerful song on her album (in my humble opinion). I'm glad you like her! She is obviously my favourite :) You should buy her album - it's amazing. It's a bit of a mixed bag though in regards to song choice.

She is releasing a charity single for christmas with our cricket team so expect to see more of her :)

Her manager emailed me today and he said Keedie wasn't with EMI anymore (that wasn't what the e-mail was about, it was about her website). But I took that to mean that she was dropped :( I think that is outrageous. After all the things the EMI director said about her to the press they go and drop her. I don't think she will have any problems picking up a new one. I think 'The Really Useful Group' would pick her up without hesitation anyway. We shall see.

Hi all,

I found a site showing the music video! She sounds stunning! I am buying both of the single editions! Because I'm mad!

As I type this message, I am listening to the most recent addition to my CD collection, playing in the background. It is the debut album which was released last year by KEEDIE! And, it just arrived by international Air Mail from amazon.co.uk -- yesterday! I just couldn't resist the sound of her voice, which I had heard for the first time a few weeks ago, in the background of the film "Modigliani."

I loooooooove this album! Maybe her voice is not as "pure" as Hayley's (KEEDIE has a very noticeable vibrato), but it sure is impressive to listen to. She has many different "colours" to her voice, and it can sound very pop (like Celine Dion), or very operatic (like Sarah Brightman). My most favourite tracks on the album are "Vedi Maria" (in which Keedie duets with herself), "Only Time" (a cover of a piece by Enya), and "My Reason" (a very emotional piece which served as the theme song to the film "Modigliani"). She also does a great interpretation of "Ave Maria" (by Bach/Gounod), "Time to Say Good-bye" (the Bocelli signature song), and "Vissi d'arte" (from Puccini's Tosca). I'm not overly impressed by the track from which the title of this album is taken, however -- "I Believe My Heart." The reason that I don't care much for it is not because of Keedie's voice, though. Her voice is fine. I just think that this isn't one of Andrew Lloyd Webber's better songs.

At first, I thought that the album might be too costly to import from "across the pond," but that turned out not to be the case. In fact, it is rather surprising that Amazon in the UK is charging only £5.07 (WITHOUT the VAT) for this album. We Yankees don't have to pay any VAT, but even if you were to add-on the VAT amount, this album would still be an unbelievable bargain!

I mean, it is more than £2.50 BELOW the cost of Katherine Jenkins' latest album (Living A Dream), for example, and more than £2.00 BELOW the cost of Il Divo's latest (Ancora).

I'm not sure how EMI manages to distribute this for such a cheap price! Aside from the price, there is NOTHING "cheap" about this album. First of all, the album liner says that it contains 17 tracks. Accordingly, the liner notes list the titles of only 17 songs. Wrong! It actually has 20 songs! Well... technically speaking, there are only 17 track delineations, but... it so happens that the entire track #17 is over 20 minutes in length! What happens on track #17 is that it (secretly) contains a grand total of 4 songs.

Here's how: After the song which is listed for track #17 finishes playing, you might expect the CD to stop rotating on your CD player. But, it doesn't stop. It continues spinning, although you don't hear any sound. You are treated to over 4 minutes of dead silence, as you begin to wonder what in-the-devil is going on??? Ultimately, the silence is finally broken, as you hear some new-age sounding instrumental music. Then, at approximately 8:35 on the track's time-counter, Keedie begins to sing again. You suddenly hear Keedie singing (Lascia Ch'io Pianga), followed by the Flower Duet from Lakme, which is then followed by "Un Bel Di" from Puccini's "Madame Butterfly."

Essentially, EMI has added these three "bonus" songs at the end of the album, without listing them anywhere. My only two complaints are: EMI could have delineated them into separate tracks, which they didn't do -- perhaps to keep you from accessing them separately. The only way to get at them is to listen to all of track #17. My other complaint is that you have to wait (wade?) through more than 4 minutes of dead silence in order to hear the first of the bonus songs! Could they not have given you 45 seconds or even 60 seconds of silence, and then introduced the bonus area of that track? It's like... what? Did they want you to "give up" and turn off your CD player without ever discovering the "surprise"? How exceptionally weird!!!

My question is... is this a common practice in the record industry...? And, I don't just mean the practice of having "hidden" tracks -- I know that a lot of albums feature "hidden" tracks. But, I mean, the practice of inserting over four minutes of DEAD SILENCE prior to the "hidden" material. Isn't the silent period normally much shorter?

Re: KEEDIE
Post by Roger

Hi Susan,

I too am mystified by the 4 minutes of silence. I have occasionally known "hidden" bonus tracks but never such a long wait following the final listed track before hearing them. The first time I played Keedie's CD, I obviously wans't expecting to hear any more and thought the player had kicked into standby mode. There is still a mark on my ceiling where my head hit it as I suddenly heard music when I least expected it! LOL

Great album though, isn't it? :)

Roger

Re: KEEDIE
Post by nicola

It's actually very common for hidden tracks to come this way. There are other weirder ways. One CD I own (I have forgotten which one) has 12 dead tracks before you get to a hidden one on track 32. Or you get a load of interludes before a song comes on or someone talking for a bit, or people messing around in the studio. It's always a treat I guess.

Hidden tracks are there to prompt good reviews I think. If a reviewer as found the hidden tracks they tend to go away from the album thinking 'What a bargain, I got more than I expected' and have a positive feeling about the CD. The fact of the matter is they make it out to be a secret 'bonus' when it was never a bonus in the first place. It's just a trick to have the listener think they have been given some extra free.

I do like the nice surprises, but there is no credit written in the album to these songs.

It's not EMI that determines the price. They have dropped her anyway (as far as I can tell) so it's like a 'clear out' price, I guess :(

An amazing and catching singer who catches both a mixture of classical and modernistic music and incorporates it all into one album. A totally stunning voice and has a brilliant start for many more albums to come.

I bought this album straight away after listening to her voice on Webbers single 'I Believe My Heart'. Andrew Lloyd Webber was touched when he saw her performing one night and so he asked her to do the song for him and for good reason. Thankfully she accepted and this wonderful disc has been released.

There are more positive points about this album than there are negative. First off, Webber's song from 'The Woman In White' makes an appearance, hopefully to become her signature song. The rest of an album is a mixture of Pop, Classical and also a nod to New age (Similar to the style of Sarah Brightman who touches different types of music) with the cover of an Enya song 'Only Time' which, has more of a beat than Enyas original. There is also a cover of Madonna's 'You'll See' but I didn't see the point of covering it, it had nothing new or special to it. The great thing about this album is that it has original songs which other Classical Crossover artists are missing. She has two wonderful song writers in particular that understand her voice. Keedie even puts her two cents in for her debut by co-writing two interludes. One interlude (which is called Interlude) is frustratingly nice, it only lasts for a minute! 'Ave Maria' by Bach is completely reinvented and is given some English lyrics. Now I don't mean to spoil the surprise for you but if you listen to the last song of the disc and let it run for 8 minutes you are about to be spoiled; there isn't one hidden track, not two, but three hidden tracks on top of the other 17 tracks. If I remember correctly they are 'Laschia o' Pianga', 'The Flower Duet' from Lakme and 'Un Bel Di Vedremo' from Madame Butterfly. The latter two just so happen to be two of my favourite opera arias. They were very welcome.

Her voice: it has its up and downs. She soars on her pop songs and adds some soprano touches here and there. Classical, sometimes soars. Her voice is absolutely beautiful however she can sometimes rely so heavily on vibrato she sometimes sounds like a lost lamb, this is the only negative I have with the album and its a big enough problem to lose a star in my rating.

I have high expectations from Keedie in the future and I hope she follows the foot steps of Ms. Sarah Brightman on becoming varied and unique. I really recommend Keedie to you, she does have something new to give in terms of her classical pieces and with 20 tracks on one cd, Im sure that is for one point, your moneys worth and second point the odds are you will like some of them since there is so much variety. Give the lovely lady a go. If you don't trust me trust Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber.

I found Keedie's first album, I Believe in my Heart, totally spellbinding. Here is a unique talent, someone who can blend pop with classical music and enhance both. Vissi d'arte will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Her version of Time to say Goodbye rivals that of Katherine Jenkins. A wonderful CD throughout.

Keedie has a really nice voice and 'I Believe my Heart' is a great CD from her. There are some songs on this CD that I am not sure if she should have did them but I still would give it five stars seeing I like the CD so much.
