KEEDIE
Brings Sunshine and Joy to the Children

Chart topping classical/pop singing sensation Keedie Babb, fresh from her recent stunning charity performance with Tina Turner in London, took time out of her busy schedule to give her valuable support to the Children's Hospice South West.  Keedie visited the wonderful Bygones Victorian Museum in her home town of Torquay to oversee the release of her unique album 'KN21' which has been specially created to raise vital funds to help children with life limiting illnesses. Bygones also opened their doors for free on the day to raise funds for this wonderful children's charity.

'KN21' contains mainly hit songs from the 1960s which Keedie and her sister Nadine recorded (fantastically well!) in 1993 at the Great Western Hotel, Paignton when they were 10 & 11 years of age. The album also includes two fabulous 'Bonus' tracks, 'Would I Know' and 'Nessun Dorma' which Keedie recorded in 2005.

This unique album, priced at £10 each with every single penny going to the Children's Hospice South West, can be purchased from Dave & Jessica Haddock, 8 Marshfield Road, Timperley, Altrincham, Cheshire. WA15-7BY. Please make cheque payable to 'Children's Hospice South West'

With a glittering career ahead of her the ever smiling and down to earth Keedie will undoubtedly continue to support charitable causes with her incredible talent. With being born and brought up in a loving family Keedie's art of creating sunshine for unfortunate families comes quite naturally to her.

KEEDIE TURNS BACK THE CLOCK FOR CHARITY

Singing sensation Keedie Babb gave her backing to a charity CD and helped a Torquay attraction celebrate its 20th anniversary.

The 24-year-old from Marldon made a special visit to the Bay to sign copies of a special charity album with her sister Nadine at Bygones Victorian Museum in St Marychurch. They turned the clock back to the 1960s with a music album KN21 which has been specially created to raise vital funds the Children's Hospice South West which cares for sick children.

In 1993 Keedie and Nadine, when Keedie was 11 and Nadine 10, performed 60s pop to audiences all over Devon.

The name they chose for their act was KN21 which was a mix of their initials and combined ages at that time. Also, Keedie and Nadine were born on the 21st day of different months.

Some of those songs have been put on an album with proceeds going to the charity and were sold at the Yelloway Mobile Motor Coach Museum which visited Bygones on their 20th anniversary.

To mark the celebration Bygones did not charge any entry fee but instead asked visitors for a donation to the charity.

Pat Cumming from Bygones said they made more than £2,600 for the worthwhile cause.

"We had just over 500 people come along and we were very pleased it was such a great success," she said.

"It was more people than we expected as we wouldn't normally get anything like that at this time of the year.

"It was absolutely fantastic and the atmosphere was absolutely wonderful."

Tony Beard, the Wag from Widdecombe, also came along and acted as compere for the day.

A spokesman for the Children's Hospice South West said: "To raise that much in one day was really spectacular. We are very grateful to Bygones and everybody else. It certainly was a fantastic day."

More money was also raised for the cause from the sale of the albums. There are still charity CDs available and they can be purchased by contacting Dave Haddock on 07760 193143 or visiting www.keedie.info
